WASH INSTITUTE:
A SMALL TOWN BECOMES A MODEL REGION.
INDIA | STATUS: CURRENT
Ensuring safe sanitation and fostering a healthier environment remains a priority for many Indian cities amid growing populations and rapidly changing climatic conditions. Achieving this requires more than providing access to basic WASH infrastructure – it requires building ownership in the community, forward-looking plan to sustain and manage the assets, and changing the behaviors of people. WASH Institute is leading this effort, demonstrating climate-resilient and sustainable WASH solutions in Vedasandur. This project will serve as a model to be replicated for the region.
Left: As part of an awareness-raising campaign, the WASH Institute team distributes information materials to the local population.
